PURPOSE:To eliminate a delay in response to engine control by estimating an engine operation after a shift-up in accordance with a gear ratio and an engine rotational speed at present when a shift-up signal is generated, and by predictably control various equipments in accordance with the result of the estimation. CONSTITUTION:An engine control device having an automatic transmission control means A for delivering a gear shift-up signal in accordance with the operating condition of a vehicle shifts up an automatic transmission B in accordance with the shift-up signal. Further, the engine control device has an engine control means for controlling various control equipments E in accordance with the engine operating condition. In this arrangement, there is provided a means for estimating the operating condition of the engine after shift-up operation in accordance with a gear ratio and an engine rotational speed which are set at present, when the shift-up signal is generated. Further, the engine control means C is arranged to predictably control the various equipments E in accordance with the operating condition of the engine which is estimated by the estimating means D. |
