A number of washes planned to take placed over a specific period in respect of each type of article to be washed are fed into the programme as a commencement value, and via a conversion unit are transferred to a predetermined output value. This output value is equal for all types of articles to be washed. - The output value for each washing process is reduced with a unit comprising the quotient between the input value and the planned number of washes of each special type of article. The reduced value can be presented or give rise to representation levels of which the highest is read off or monitored, thereby indicating which type of articles is to be processed in the subsequent washing cycle.
