PURPOSE:To improve the rigidity of a hinge pillar in supporting a door by forming a recessed part on one of an outer panel and an inner panel, fixing the recessed part to the other, and forming a closed section around the recessed part to form the component member of the hinge pillar. CONSTITUTION:A hinge pillar component member 16 is formed with an outer panel 18 and an inner panel 20. And, a recessed part 24 is formed on the inner panel 20 and fixed to the outer panel 18. Hence, the recessed part 24 around which a closed section is formed constitutes the hinge pillar component member 16. Accordingly, the rigidity of the hinge pillar in supporting a door can be improved.
