PURPOSE:To emphasize the projection and depth feeling and strengthen the impression of stereoscopic images by allowing either left or right image to displace in parallel to either left or right direction by the control of an operator, and varying the parallax artificially. CONSTITUTION:The image of an object 1 is picked up by a right-eye image television camera 2 and a left-eye image television camera 3 synchronously by synchronizing signals from a synchronizing signal generator 4. A field identifi cation circuit 5 discriminates odd number fields and even number fields, and drives a switch 6 in switching. Accordingly, right-eye and left-eye video signals that are inputted to a video processing circuit 7 in the subsequent stage are switched alternately with each other, hence right-eye signals are obtained in odd numbered fields and left-eye signals in even numbered fields. To make these signals being viewed in stereoscope, the field-identification is executed by a field identification circuit 9, and an electro-optical shutter 11 is opened/ closed synchronously with pictures by using outputs from a shutter drive circuit 10. |
