PURPOSE:To separate cutting chips and to facilitate removal of cutting chips when a portion of inner wall of scroll near to wheel is cut from wheel side, by etching semi-circular grove radially from the axis of wheel in the inner wall of scroll closely to the wheel prior to casting. CONSTITUTION:Four semi-circular grooves 5 having width of about 1mm and depth of 1-3mm are etched radially from the axis of rotary shaft of wheel 3 in the inner wall of scroll 2 in housing 1 closely to the wheel 3. When a cutter is inserted from the wheel 3 side into the scroll 2 to cut a portion of the inner wall close to the wheel, cutting chips are left in circular line, but when there is a semi-circular groove 5, cutting chips are separated and fall into the scroll 2. When the housing 1 finished of cutting work is swung to drop cutting chips to the outside of the housing 1 or the cutting chips are blown off by compressed air, the interior of scroll 2 is cleaned perfectly.
