PURPOSE:To make it possible to remarkably shorten the time required for manufacturing a cutting tool and save material, and to provide the cutting tool with sufficient strength by fitting a shaft shape member for forming the cutting body into a hollow cylinder shape member for forming the shank of the cutting tool and thereafter baking both members. CONSTITUTION:A shank member 10 is formed beforehand into a hollow cylinder shape and a drill body (a cutting body) 11 into a shaft shape. The shaft shape member 11 is fitted into the hollow shape member 10 to from a stepped shape. Next, the cylinder shape member 10 made of cermet and the shaft shape member 11 are baked while being fitted to each other so as to be integrally and strongly combined with each other to obtain a microdrill as a sintered alloy. Thus, the stepped shape microdrill having a sufficient strength can be manufactured at a low cost and in shorter time while saving material.
