An electronic apparatus and a method for manufacturing the same

A thin electronic calculator having a circuit board unit in which an IC pellet (10) is directly mounted on a film board (71) by means of metal foil leads (74) fixed to one surface of the film board. Each lead has one end secured to the pellet and the other end radially extending from the one end and having a larger width than the one end, the pitch of the other ends being greater than that of the one ends. The IC pellet (10) is bonded to the one end portions of the metal foil leads (74) through bump electrodes (10a). The circuit board unit is fixed to a wiring board by an anisotropically electrical conductive adhesive (12), the other end of each metal foil lead (74) being electrically connected to a corresponding connecting terminal (66) formed on the wiring board. An electronic component assembly constituted by the circuit board unit and the wiring board is received in upper and lower covers, and is adhered by adhesive islands deposited on the covers. The IC pellet (10) is arranged in an oversized opening (73) in the film board (71) and the one ends of the metal foil leads (74) are inclined into the opening.
