PURPOSE:To influence no effect upon a head holding posture even if an environmental change due to temperature and humidity, etc., is experienced and to possess a high vibration damping performance by providing a dynamic vibration reducer consisting of an elastic member and an inertial mass fitted with the elastic member to the head or a gimbal spring. CONSTITUTION:The dynamic vibration reducer consisting of the elastic member 5 having a prescribed spring constant and the inertial mass 6 with a prescribed weight fitted to the elastic member 5 is provided to the head 1 or the gimbal spring 3 for elastically supporting the head 1. That is, a vibratory energy to be given to the head is absorbed only by a movable part constitutive of the head and the gimbal spring which should follow undulation and vibration of a recording medium for the purpose of stabilizing the recording and reproducing. Furthermore, since there is no elastic member to be deformed in accordance with the temperature and humidity between the movable part and a holding member for supporting the movable part, no influence is affected upon the head holding posture by the temperature and humidity changes.
