PURPOSE:To improve the appearance at a cut end after cutting simply by selecting the characteristic value of the pulp to be used for raw paper by using the pulp which has the specific relation between zero distance tensile strength and tensile strength for said raw paper. CONSTITUTION:The pulp having the relation (Z-T)<=8kg between the zero distance tensile strength (Z) and the tensile strength (T) is used for the raw paper of a base for photographic paper formed by providing polyolefin resin coating layers on both faces of the raw paper made from the pulp. The zero distance tensile strength represents the single fiber strength of the pulp and the tensile strength represents the inter-fiber bond strength. Cutting quality is poorer as the single fiber is stronger and the inter-fiber bonding force is lower. Conversely, the cutting quality is better as the single fiber strength is lower and the inter-fiber bonding force is higher, i.e., the zero distance tensile strength (Z) is smaller and the tensile strength (T) is larger, i.e., the value of (Z-T) is smaller. |
