PURPOSE:To reduce energy consumption, by disposing a wire net having catalytic functions all over itself in a region through which smell passes and heating the wire net by applying electric current by means of an energizing device. CONSTITUTION:A wire net 11, disposed in a region through which smell A passes, carries thereon components of catalyst, such as Pt, Pd, Co, Ni, Fe etc., in a manner that catalytic functions are proveded all over the wire net, to be heated by applying electric current by means of an energizing device, so that offensive smell components A1 contact the wire net 11 to be oxidized and decomposed, being thereby converted to odorless components B1, such as H2O, CO2 etc. In this manner, the apparatus can be made smaller and energy for heating odorless components is reduced, resulting in reducing energy consump tion. |
