PURPOSE:To properly connect the end face of an optical fiber with a light receiving (or emitting) face of a light receiving (or emitting) element without using a connector by providing the titled device with a light transmitting plate upon which the tip of an inserted optical fiber is abutted and a non-return supporting means for the inserted optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:When the optical fiber 3 inserted into an insertion hole 2 of an apparatus case 1 is stored in a box body 4 and abutted upon the light transmitting plate 5, the inserting position of the fiber 3 is regulated by the plate 5. When the fiber 3 inserted into the hole 2 passes the base 7a of the non-return supporting means 7, plural elastic claw chips 7b are obliquely pressed against the periphery of the optical fiber, so that the fiber 3 is held at the inserting position and prevented from being ejected. The light emitting or receiving element 6 is arranged on the fiber-unabutted side of the plate 5. Consequently, the optical fiber can be directly connected to an apparatus, a specific connector can be omitted, the optical fiber connecting means can be simplified, and the cost of the device can be reduced. |
