PURPOSE:To suppress decrease in the number of sheets of copying and to prevent the occurrence of system error by making a copy system consisting of a scanner, a printer, and a controller not to decide on an error even if the time lapse from when the scanner scans an original until when it returns to a copy-able status comes longer, instead, executes consecutive copying upon the returning of the scanner. CONSTITUTION:After a time t4 (a prescribed copying time set for one sheet corresponding to the size of the paper) lapses since the completion of feeding for a first copying, the printer 102 executes a second feeding of paper corresponding to the preliminarily set number of sheets of copy. During the above process, the scanner 101 ends the reading of an area of an original instructed by the controller 103, and returns its carriage to the home position C. When the carriage returns to its home position C and the copy-able status is amture, the scanner 101 immediately informs the controller 103 of the copy-eable status. Accordingly, even if the returning time of the scanner 101 delays when repeating the process during the copying of plural sheets, the system does not decide on an error, furthermore, the decrease in the number of copy sheets can be limited to the minimum. |
