PURPOSE:To prevent a vehicle from backward travelling even if a backward change-over clutch is accidentally changed over, by detecting the change-over operation to the backward position of backward travelling change-over clutch in the neutral position of a main transmission to stop an engine. CONSTITUTION:A stopping means 100 shortcircuits the positive half-wave of a charging coil 84a to stop an engine 16 on the basis of an operation for changing over a forward and backward change-over clutch 58 from a forward position (F) to a backward position (R) in the neutral position (N) of a main transmission 44. Also, a prohibiting means 102 disables the stopping means 100 even if said clutch is changed over to the backward position (non-N).
