PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which can give a paint film excellent in scratch resistance, chemical resistance, dyeability, transparency, heat resistance, weathering resistance and water resistance, by mixing a colloidal dispersion of Sb2O5 microparticles with a specified organosilane compound hydrolyzate and microparticulate silica. CONSTITUTION:A colloidal dispersion (A) of Sb2O5 microparticles is obtained by dispersing Sb2O5 microparticles (a) of a particle diameter of 1-100mmu in a dispersion medium (b) comprising water and, optionally, an alcoholic dispersing medium, a carboxylic acid or the like. The title composition is obtained by mixing 5-90wt.% component A with 95-10wt.% hydrolyzate of at least one organosilane compound (B) of the formula [wherein R is a 1-6C hydrocarbon group, X is a 2-40C organic group, Y is a hydrolyzable group such as a halogen, an (alkoxy)alkoxyl, acryl(oxy) or alkenoxy and a is 0-2] and 0-60wt.% microparticulate silica (C) of an average particle diameter of 1-100mmu. This composition optionally dispersed in water or an organic solvent is applied to the surface of a substrate such as a plastic or glass and heat-set. |
