PURPOSE:To enhance photosensitivity and repetition characteristics by forming a photoconductive layer containing at least one of specified azo compounds. CONSTITUTION:The photoconductive layer contains at least one of the azo compounds represented by formulae I and II in which each of X1-X4 is alkyl, aryl group, H atom, cyano, carbamoyl, carboxy, ester group, or the like; each of X5 and X6 is H, halogen atom, nitro, alkyl, or alkoxy group; Z is H atom, alkyl, cycloalkyl group, or the like; D1 is such as a group of formula III; each of Y1-Y4 is H, halogen atom, nitro, alkyl group, or the like. These azo compounds can be synthesized by reacting a corresponding diazonium compound to coupling react with a coupler in a proper organic solvent by base, thus permitting photosensitivity and repetition characteristics to be enhanced. |
