PURPOSE:To eliminate such an inconvenience that the foremost tip of an image appears at the rear end part of a copy paper placed before a copying device by providing a controller which can vary the timings of a start signal and an erase signal to be given to a scanner and a printer. CONSTITUTION:The controller 103 monitors the state of the printer 102 and that of the scanner 101, and accepts a key to start copying only when both are ready for copying. At this time, the controller 103 executes the moving of an image in the subscanning direction instructed by an operator by so adjusting the time-relation between the starting of carrier of the printer 102 and the starting of read of the scanner 101. Assuming the length of said moving in the subscanning direction to be (l) as shown in the figure and the carrier speed to be (v), the printer 102 is made start printing earlier by l/v by comparing an image (b) in case l/v>=0 and an image (a) in case of no moving. Also, an image (c) in case l/v<0 is printed by delaying the printing by l/v i.e. the scanner 101 is started earlier than the printer by l/v. |
