PURPOSE:To eliminate the shortage of starting torque at the time of dehydration by mounting an intermediate tap, through which the number of turns from one terminal is equalized substantially to that of a main winding, to an auxiliary winding. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary winding 4 has a intermediate tap 4c through which the number of turns from one terminal 4a is made substantially the same as that of a main winding 2. A switch 10 is changed over to the terminal 10a side on washing while a switch 8 is changed over to the terminal 8a side, and a single-phase induction motor is turned counterclockwise at constant speed. For clockwise washing, the switch 8 is changed over to the terminal 8b side, and the motor is rotated clockwise at fixed speed. On dehydration, on the other hand, the switch 10 is changed over to the terminal 10b side while the switch 8 is changed over to the terminal 8a side, and starting torque larger than that on washing is generated. |
