PURPOSE:To efficiently cool a rotary electric machine by filling good thermal conductive insulator in an air gap around a metal cooling tube, passing both ends of the cooling tube to the supply and exhaust chamber in a supply and exhaust header and enabling extension and contraction of the cooling tube at the passing part. CONSTITUTION:A stator core 1 is elastically supported to a stator frame 6. A cooling tube 23 for cooling the state core 1 is inserted into a hole 20 passed axially through the core 1. The tube 23 is formed of a corrosion resistant metal tube 19 and an insulator 12 having linear expansion coefficient similar to that of the tube 19. A good thermal conductive insulator 13 is filled between the tube 23 and the core 1 to improve the thermal conduction. Water supply and exhaust chambers 9, 10, 11 for supplying and exhausting cooling water to and from the tube 23 are all constructed in a sealing structure. |
