PURPOSE:To attain the automatic transmission of both a PBX line and an NTT line by providing an NTT line dial tone and a PBX dial tone detecting circuit in the MODEM having an automatic transmitting function. CONSTITUTION:After the off-hook, when a dial tone is detected by an NTT line dial tone detecting circuit 2, the dial signal of a telephone number stored in a telephone number storing part 4 is sent from a dial signal generating circuit 1. On the other hand, when the dial tone is detected by a PBX dial tone detecting circuit 3 with a dial tone detecting circuit 3, the dial signal of the dial number to connect from a PBX extension stored in a number storing part 5 to an NTT line is sent from the dial signal generating circuit 1, and next, when the dial tone is detected by the detecting circuit 2, the dial signal stored in the storing part 4 is sent from the generating circuit 1.
