PURPOSE:To dispense with a troublesome optical axis alignment, and to obtain a highly efficient optical head by installing a light source on a three dimensional actuator. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor laser 10 is fixed on the three dimensional actuator 8, and the semiconductor is installed so that the position of the semiconductor 10 can be controlled against a collimation lens 12 or a condenser lens 18. Accordingly, by electrically fine-adjusting the position of the laser 10 so as to control a relative position between the lens 12 and to cast a spot within the definite range of a disk 20, it can be adjusted so that a reflected light comes incident on a photodetector 36. Therefore,the customary optical axis alignment to fine-adjust the laser 10 by several mum can be dispensed with, and at the same time, the optical head with a high incoming/outgoing efficiency can be obtained.
