PURPOSE:To evaluate the correct print quality by providing a means which converts the character data on a character generator into the dictionary pattern data. CONSTITUTION:An image pickup device 11 supplies an image of a check subject 18 printed by a printer containing a character generator CG. When the character data (a) is inputted from a CG data input circuit 19, a feature dictionary production circuit 20 magnifies the data (a) to produce feature dictionary pattern (b) after magnifying the data (a) up to the picture resolution of the device 11. A thin dictionary production circuit 21 magnifies the pattern (b) up to the minimum diameter of a dot pin of the printer for production of thin dictionary pattern (c). While a thick dictionary production circuit 22 magnifies the pattern (b) up to the maximum diameter of said dot pin for production of a thick dictionary pattern (d). Thus the patterns (b), (c), (d) are produced from the data (a) so that the dot position printed actually and the output position of the registered dot pin can be checked. |
