PURPOSE:To decrease the change in the tilt angle of a liquid crystal element after constitution of the element as far as possible and to supply the liquid crystal at the required stable tilt angle by previously interacting solvents and oriented films before injection of the liquid crystal. CONSTITUTION:The oriented films 5, 6 are formed on the main planes, on one side, of 1st and 2nd substrates 1, 2 so as to cover conductive electrodes 3, 4 and after the oriented films 5, 6 are subjected to a rubbing treatment in a specified direction by a fabric, etc., the 1st and 2nd substrates 1, 2 are immersed in the prescribed solvent mixture by using a thermostatic chamber having a reflux device. The 1st and 2nd substrates 1, 2 are sealed at a prescribed spacing after drying by heating. A liquid crystal compsn. 7 is injected therebetween to form the liquid crystal element. Since the oriented films are subjected to the solvent treatment after the rubbing treatment in such a manner, the required liquid crystal is supplied at the stable tilt angle. |
