PURPOSE:To prevent an input pen from being lost, by controlling a power source by operating a pen holder by means of the input pen and fixing the pen to the holder when the power source is disconnected. CONSTITUTION:When this input device is not operated, an input pen 1 is put in and fixed to a pen holder 2. If the input pen 1 is inserted into the pen holder 2 and the holder 2 is turned counterclockwise until the mark 2a of the holder 2 coincides with the mark 3b of an input tablet 3, the fixing member 21 of the holder 2 enters into the cut 5 of the pen 1 and the pen 1 does not come out. Simultaneously, a power switch 22 is turned off and a power source E is disconnected. When he pen 1 is turned clockwise until the mark 2a coincides with other mark 3a of the input tablet 3 thereafter, the fixing member 21 comes out from the cut 5 as illustrated in Fig. A and the pen 1 can be removed from the holder 2 since the opening 2b has the same cross section as the pen 1 has. Simultaneously with the removal of the pen 1 from the holder 2, the switch 22 is turned on and the power source E is connected.
