PURPOSE:To provide a catalyst capable of advantageously producing the highly stereoregular polymer under stabilized polymerization conditions when applied to alpha-olefin polymerization, comprising an organoaluminum compound and a solid catalytic component prepared by contacting each specific three components. CONSTITUTION:The objective catalyst comprising (A) a solid catalytic component prepared by contacting (i) solid component comprising Ti-, Mg- and halogen-components with the valence for said Ti-component being 3 through reduction by organozinc compound [e.g., a component formed by reducing TiBr4 or Ti(OC2H5)Cl3 with (CH3)2Zn], (ii) a Si-compound of formula (R<1> and R<2> are each hydrocarbon residue; X is halogen; 0<=m<=3, 0<=n<=3 and 0<=m+n<=3) [e.g., (CH3)Si(OCH3)3], and (iii) an organoaluminum compound [e.g., Al(C2H5)3, Al(C2H5)2(OC2H5)] and (B) an organoaluminum compound.
