PURPOSE:To suppress the leakage magnetic flux leaked from an erasure head to a track of a magnetic recording medium by supplying an AC signal to a coil of the erasure head so as to cancel the magnetic flux generated to the non-erasure track of the magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:In the floppy disk device, a recording and reproduction switching circuit 18 is switched at recording and a digital signal for information recording is converted into a current signal by a recording circuit 20 and a coil 10B of a recording reproducing head 10 is energized via a recording and reproducing switching circuit 18. In this case, an AC signal is supplied to a coil 12F of the erasure head 12 from an erasure control circuit 16. In supplying an AC signal to the coil 12F, the direction of generation of the magnetic flux is changed in response to the AC signal to each core of the erasure head 12 and the leakage magnetic flux leaded to the nonerasure track is canceled. As a result, the magnetic flux leaked to the recording/reproducing head 10 from the erasure head 12 is suppressed. |
