PURPOSE:To surely pick up the arc generated on the surface of an insulator, discharge across main arc horns, and secure the insulation distance from a jumper wire even in the vertical alignment by fitting a pair of the right and left auxiliary horns on both faces below the earth side yoke of the insulator. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary arc horn 7 is constituted of a downward trailing section 11, an outward horizontal strut section 12, a horizontal section 13 extended nearly in parallel with the axis of an insulator, and a rising section 14. A pair of symmetrical right and left auxiliary arc horns 7 are fitted on both faces below the earth side yoke 1. The horizontal section 13 of the auxiliary arc horn 7 is located above the lower end of the shade section 16 of the insulator 4. Even in case of the vertical alignment, the insulation distance from a jumper wire 17 can be made larger than the conventional device provided with a normal auxiliary arc horn. The rising section 14 of the horn 7 is extended upward so as to envelop the outsides of insulators 3, 4. The arc generated along the surface of any of the insulators 3, 4 is picked up by the horn 7 then moved to a main arc horn 5 and discharged across horns 5, 6.
