PURPOSE:To make good quality of a cast slab by dividing into three sections in upper and lower water cooled jackets contacting with a graphite mold compressing the jackets with connecting plates slidingly fitting at the upper and lower jackets and uniformly cooling the mold by dispersion of concentrated load and absorption of heat expanding difference. CONSTITUTION:The upper and lower water cooled jackets contacting with both outer faces of the graphite mold 1 for horizontally continuous casting are made to each three divided water cooled jackets 2a, 2b, 2c and the divided water cooled jackets 2a, 2b, 2c are connected with the connecting plate 7 fitted with a sliding groove. This connecting plate 7 is clamped as dividing with clamping bolts 5 of an outer frame 4 and the divided water cooled jackets 2 are sufficiently brought into contact with the graphite mold 1 under pressurizing. Local concentrated load developed in the case of the conventional integrated type water cooled jacket is dispersed and the heat expanding difference with the graphite mold 1 is relaxed and absorbed, and the abutting on the face is uniformized and good conditions. Therefore, the graphite mold 1 is uniformly cooled and the graphite of the cast slab 6 is made to good. |
