PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber with good productivity at a low cost without a drawing step, by spinning a polyester, containing ethylene terephthalate as main recurring units and having a specific value or above or crystallization enthalpy measured by differential scanning calorimetry under specific condition at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:A polyester polymer, containing >=95% ethylene terephthalate recurring units and having >=-10J/g (DELTAHc) crystallization enthalpy measured from the temperature decreasing crystallization peak obtained by holding a molten sample weighing 8mg at 300 deg.C sample temperature for 3min, decreasing temperature and then crystallizing the sample at 20 deg.C/min temperature decreasing rate in differential scanning calorimetry is melt discharged from a spinneret 2 in a spinning head 1 to provide a monofilament group 4, which is then passed through a heating cylinder 3, quenched with quenching air 6, oiled, bundled with a bundling guide 5 and wound onto a winding roll 7 at >=7,000m/min speed to afford the aimed fiber.
