PURPOSE:To obtain a high degree of heat-insulation by providing a cylinder head liner which forms a combustion chamber having such a shape that the center part of an engine cylinder is low but the outer peripheral section thereof is high, and by disposing intake and exhaust valves in an inclined part in the lower surface of the cylinder head which is inclined and extended from the center part of the cylinder to the outer peripheral section thereof. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic thin plate 5 adapted to form a flat surface in a piston head section 1 of a piston 20 on the combustion chamber side, is disposed in the piston head section 1 through the intermediary of a heat-insulating material 3. A cylinder liner 30 is formed so as to form a combustion chamber 15 having such a shape that the center part of the cylinder is low but the outer peripheral section thereof is high so as to cope with the flat surface formed by the ceramic thin plate 5 in the cylinder head section 1. The combustion chamber 15 has such a saucer shape that its volume increases toward the outer periphery thereof. Further, intake and exhaust valves 21 are disposed in an inclined surface in a lower surface section 22 in the cylinder head liner 30, which is inclined and extended from the cylinder center part to the cylinder outer peripheral section. |
