PURPOSE:To control a wire drawing machine so that it starts smoothly without causing die back, by supplying electric current corresponding to a set signal to a DC motor by a command of starting a wire drawing machine, before starting operation by releasing a brake. CONSTITUTION:In a control device 20 of a dancer-roll type wire drawing machine, a torque, which provides a minimum tension necessary for producing a wire rod stretched state while overcoming a back tension of wire rod 1, is previously set to a torque setter 25. This set minimum electric current is supplied to a DC motor 14 by a command of starting the drawing machine. A brake 12 is released after confirming the flow of the current. Then, the setter 25 is disconnected when a switch 26 is turned off, and a running current to the limit of a limiter 24 is provided to the DC motor 1 to put the drawing machine in a running state. By this method, the starting is smoothly performed without causing die back. |
