摘要 |
PURPOSE:To increase the uranium adsorbing capacity of an adsorbent by reacting a composite fiber consisting of two kinds of polymers having different acrylonitrile contents with hydroxylamine and by using the resulting amidoxime type fiber as the adsorbent. CONSTITUTION:A composite fiber consisting of a polymer contg. >=96wt.% acrylonitrile and a polymer contg. 40-95wt.% acrylonitrile is produced. A conjugate fiber, preferably a side-by-side type or sheath-core type fiber is used as the composite fiber. The composite fiber is reacted with hydroxylamine and the resulting amidoxime type fiber is used as a uranium adsorbent. This adsorbent has high fiber strength and large uranium adsorbing capacity and is used as a superior adsorbent for collecting uranium in seawater.
