PURPOSE:To improve the weather-proof property of steel, by combining the metallic plate of the steel of a specific composition, with a non-magnetic metallic plate excellent in electrical conductivity, and by forming a reaction plate. CONSTITUTION:A linear motor-car is provided with the reaction plate 3 of a secondary side conductor set on the center between rails 2 on sleepers 1, and the linear motor 5 of a primary side coil, and is propelled by a magnetic force. The reaction plate 3 is composed of the metallic plate 3b of the lower steel member of a specific composition, and the metallic plate 3a of a non- magnetic upper member excellent in electrical conductivity which is joined on the plate 3b. In this case, the metallic plate 3b of the lower member contains <=0.05% C, <=0.05% Si, <=1.00% Mn, <=0.035% P, 0.2-0.7% Cu, 0.2-1.2% Cr, and <=0.35% PD. (where PD%=C+Si/10+Mn/4+Cu/20+Cr/10) As a result, a device can be used without rust-proof coating.
