<p>PURPOSE:To prevent running out of paper by providing at the tray ascending and descending portion of a paper feed device a plurality of micro switches which act in turn with the ascent of a tray, and indicating the remaining quantity of paper by putting out lights or putting on lights in turn through closing of respective switches. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of micro switches 11-13 which detect the remaining quantity of paper P are provided at the tray ascending and descending portion of a paper feed device A, and when an elevator tray 10 loaded with a number of sheets of paper P moves up as the decrease of paper occurs, these switches are arranged so as to be put on in turn by being struck with a portion of this tray 10. When a lower bound switch 23 is put on by means of the tray 10, a tray ascending signal is outputted and at the same time, the whole of the light emitting diodes (LED) of an indicating portion is put on, and micro switches 11-13 are closed in turn from below as the tray 10 ascends. Following it, LEDs opposing respective switches 11-13 are put out in turn. Accordingly, the position of the tray 10 becomes clear and the remaining quantity of paper can be inferred, and being out of paper can be prevented.</p> |
