PURPOSE:To obtain an NMR image having good contrast and a good S/N ratio by one image pickup scanning, by making the frequency band of the first 180 deg.-pulse narrower than either of the frequency band of the 90 deg.-pulse and that of the second 180 deg.-pulse. CONSTITUTION:The Z-direction is set on the body axis direction of an object 1 to be examined. In order to obtain the images of the slices right-angled to said Z-direction, the first 180 deg.-pulse, a 90 deg.-pulse and the second 180 deg.-pulse are successively applied to excite the slices. At this time, the frequency band of the first 180 deg.-pulse is made narrower than either of the frequency band of the 90 deg.-pulse and that of the second 180 deg.-pulse.
