PURPOSE:To obtain a vibrationproof function with a general optical system by generating a scanning signal on an image pickup element according to a signal outputted by a correlation function arithmetic means. CONSTITUTION:A first memory means 105 storing a video signal outputted by an analogue/digital conversion means and a second memory means 106 storing the output signal of the first memory means 105 are provided. Then the output signal of the first memory means 105 and the output signal of the second memory means 106 are compared, the result of that comparison is accumulated over a part or the all of the content of the second memory means 106 and the correlation between the images is detected based on a coordinate signal and the output signal of a accumulation means 108. Therefore, the fluctuation of a photographing device is detected by obtaining the correlation function between the images which have timelag. Then, by generating the scanning signal of the photographing means based on the detected fluctuation information, the vibrationproof function can be formed.
