PURPOSE:To attain the titled device obtaining a high quality picture by an inexpensive optical means by projecting an original picture through a resistoration correction optical element correcting the correction of registration intrinsic to a picked-up color picture. CONSTITUTION:An image intensifier 5 is arranged on the optical image incident plane of a solid-state image pickup element 4 where CCDs are arranged on a plane via a fiber plate 11. A flair prevention chip 8 is arranged in contact with a glass face plate 10 and the front face shape of the chip 8 is constituted to act like a registration correction lens element 9. The prescribed correction quantity of the element 9 is calculated by a computer based on a distortion of an image pickup output reproduced picture of the original color image pickup system before the correction. The direction of re-reflection is removed from the image pickup plane in the front face by using a glass member having proper thickness in the chip 8 and the surrounding wall face is blackened to absorb the re-reflection light. By constituting the lens 9 by polishing the font face of the chip 8, the correction is applied without provision of new optical member.
