DRY FUEL CELL STACK ASSEMBLY

A dry fuel cell (10) stack assembly is comprised of first and second opposed plates (12 and 14). A pair of opposed electrodes (16 and 20) are positioned between the first and second plates (12 and 14). A matrix (18) is positioned between the electrodes (16 and 20). The matrix (18) includes a layer of paper (22) having sufficient porosity so as to enable the fuel cell (10) to be assembled before the electrolyte is added to the matrix (18). Passageways are provided for supplying electrolyte to the matrix (18).
