PURPOSE:To obtain an array antenna having a reflecting plate to be shared by multi-frequency bands that is available even in a wide frequency band or in plural discontinuous frequency bands, by using plural subarray antennas which work in the different frequency bands. CONSTITUTION:A subarray antenna contains plural radiation elements arrayed on a rectangular plane and plural pieces of such subarray antennas are set in the shorter side direction of a rectangle. For instance, two subarray antennas are used and a 1st subarray antenna 10 works in the bands of frequencies f1-f2. While a 2nd subarray antenna 20 works in the bands of frequencies f2-f3 respectively. Thus such an array antenna 40 is available in the bands of frequencies f1-f3. Then the available frequency band of the antenna 40 becomes twice as large as the conventional one since the available frequency bands of both antennas 10 and 20 can correspond to the conventional ones. Thus it is possible to obtain an array antenna to be shared by multi-frequency bands that is available even in a wide frequency band or in plural discontinuous frequency bands.
