PURPOSE:To easily obtain reproduced signals of high picture qualities, by making the gap length of a 2nd magnetic head H2 for reproduction provided at a prescribed interval in the scanning direction shorter than the gap length of a 1st magnetic head H1. CONSTITUTION:Reproduced signals (signals of intermediate to low frequencies) from the 1st magnetic head H1 are supplied to a low-pass filter 1 and the intermediate- to low-frequency components of chrominance signals C and luminance signals to be FM-modulated FM-Y, which are low-frequency converted, are extracted. Reproduced signals (signals of high frequency components) from the 2nd magnetic head H2 are supplied to a band-pass filter 2 and the high-frequency components of luminance signals to be FM-modulated FM-Y are extracted. When the 1st magnetic head H1 precedes the 2nd magnetic head H2, the output of the low-pass filter 1 is delayed by means of a delayer 3 by the interval P between the magnetic heads H1 and H2, so as to make the outputs of the filters 1 and 2 simultaneous to each other.
