PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of both-surface printing by feeding a sheet type recording paper to an image formation part and forming an image on the 1st surface, and varying the operation interval between 1st and 2nd paper feeding means according to the sheet size when the medium is inverted and an image is formed on the 2nd surface. CONSTITUTION:A sequence controller 1 which serves as a paper conveyance interval control means controls a printing sequence according to a control program stored in a ROM 2 to select driving timing for a paper feed roller 32 which feeds recording paper put in a paper feed cassette 21 or a paper refeed roller 29 which refeeds recording paper conveyed through a both-surface conveyance path after the end of 1st printing. Here, when the conveyance destination of the recording paper is a paper discharge tray 32, the recording paper is conveyed in order at a preset conveyance interval. Further, a paper discharge roller 25 serves as a reversing roller and the recording paper inversion necessary time is varied corresponding to the recording paper size. Thus, the throughput is improved. |
