PURPOSE:To improve precision of rotation and machining by forming the captioned device in such a manner that a workpiece is swivelled on the basis of the tip of a center when a clamping click of kelly board clamps the workpiece. CONSTITUTION:Configuration of an automatic kelly device is such that a kelly board 13, equipped with normally closed type clamping clicks 19 which clamp a workpiece W engaged with the tip 9 of a center 8, is rotatably provided, by means of kelly rods 7 of a main shaft stand 1, in the front side position of the center 8 fitted in the main shaft stand 1 for a cylindrical grinder or the like provided with a device 10 stopping the workpiece W at specified position. When a plunger 28 is moved, the clicks 19 of the kelly board 13 stopping at a specified position are unclamped, while the clicks 19 of the kelly board 13 clamp the workpiece W when the plunger 28 is restored to the original position, and the kelly board 13 is separated from an operational machanism 25. Due to the abovementioned structure, precision of not only rotation but also machining can be improved. |
