PURPOSE:To keep the subscanning accuracy to a high value by adding a guide mark to a carrier sheet carried with an original in a facsimile equipment, reading the guide mark at the time of carrying the original and controlling the carrier means based on the read information. CONSTITUTION:An original 34 is inserted between a base sheet 31 and a transparent sheet 32 at first in a way that a guide mark 34 does not line in hiding. An image sensor 51 reads the original 34 and the guide mark 33 to generate a 1-line read end signal and a mark read signal. Then an original carrying quantity correction circuit 54 fetches the mark read signal, compares it with a reference movement quantity to discriminate whether or not the original 34 is carried correctly. When it is discriminated that 'original 34 is carried by a proper quantity', a correction signal signifying correction quantity '0' to an original carrier control section 55, which controls a motor drive section 42 according to the one-line read end signal to carry the original 34 by a prescribed quantity.
