PURPOSE:To simplify an operation control table, by simplifying an amplification factor correction device regardless of the number of the kinds of image diagnostic modes. CONSTITUTION:When image diagnosis is performed, a principal amplification factor is appropriately set at first by the receiving signal amplification setting device 5a in an operation control table 5. Next, the characteristic of a receiving signal is finely adjusted corresponding to the diagnostic region in the image diagnostic mode selected presently or the change-over of a probe 1 using an amplification factor correction device 5b. The output value of this amplification factor correction device 5b is always inputted to a control circuit 7 and, when the alteration is generated with respect to the correction value due to the amplification factor correction device 5b within the image diagnostic mode, the memory content corresponding to the selection mode thereof already stored in a memory circuit 6 is renewed to the correction value after alteration and the renewed content is stored in the memory circuit 6 to perform receiving operation. Next, when only the image diagnostic mode is altered by the operation control table 5, a control circuit 7 calls the correction value from the address in the memory circuit 6 corresponding to the image diagnostic mode after alteration to perform receiving operation on the basis of said value.
