In an anchoring system for a floating structure, a fair-lead sheave (16) and a connector (17) of a wire rope (14) and a chain (18) are provided for use in hauling in and paying out the anchor. The sheave has a V-shaped groove whose max. effective width is almost same with the width of the chain. The connector is formed into a truncated cone shape to be matched with the V-shape groove over its whole length and has a vale (30) at the end portion of the large diam. of the truncated cone. Both surfaces normal to the vale are cut out from the brim of the large diam. of the truncated cone to form concave surfaces, such that the chain link is well fitted with the vale and extended in the tangential direction to the sheave.
