发明名称 TITANIUM METAL CLAD STEEL AND ITS PRODUCTION
摘要 PURPOSE:To form a metal clad steel having high joint strength without forming TiC in joint surfaces by interposing an intermediate layer consisting of a thin steel sheet layer, Zn-rich layer and Fe-rich layer successively from a base metal side between a base steel plate and titanium metal plate, subjecting these plates to seal welding then to hot rolling after deaeration. CONSTITUTION:The intermediate layer 3 consisting of the thin steel sheet layer 31, the Zn-rich Fe-Zn alloy layer 32 contg. 65-95wt.% Zn and the Fe-rich Fe-Zn alloy layer 33 contg. 65-95wt.% Fe is interposed between the base steel plate 1 and the titanium cladding metal 2. The circumferential margin of this clad metal is subjected to seal welding and after the clad metal is nonoxidized by vacuum evacuation, the metal is hot rolled. The formation of the hard and brittle TiC on the cladding metal 2 side is suppressed and the inter-diffusion of Ti and Fe is promoted to increase the joint strength. Formation of the intermediate layer by lamination of the Fe-rich layer, Zn-rich layer, thin steel sheet layer, Zn-rich layer, and Fe-rich layer is equally satisfactory. Formation of an insert material by plating the Zn-rich layer and the Fe-rich layer successively on the steel sheet surface and joining the plated surfaces is also a good alternative.
