PURPOSE:To efficiently transfer data such as a program from a read-only memory (ROM) to a random access memory (RAM) by applying one and the same address signal to the ROM and RAM and writing the data read out of the ROM in the RAM. CONSTITUTION:A read signal which is a chip selecting signal, etc., is applied to the ROM 1, a write signal is applied to the RAM 2, and the same address signal is applied to the ROM 1 and RAM 2, thereby writing the data read out of the ROM 1 in the RAM 2. Namely, the data are transferred to and written in the RAM 2 in the same arrangement of addresses A00-Ann with the ROM 1. Therefore, the addresses of the program stored in the ROM 1 can be used as they are as the addresses of the program transferred to the RAM 2, so an OS need not be modified specially.
