PURPOSE:To easily form intricate patterns with high accuracy by forming films of a uniaxially stretched hydrophilic high polymer formed partially with polarization imparting parts and adopting the constitution in which the absorption differences between the films are intersected with each other. CONSTITUTION:A polarizing plate 1 is constituted of a fixed body 2 of polarizing films 3 which are formed by pattern printing of a polarization imparting agent in a grating shape on the uniaxially stretched hydrophilic high polymer films and a transparent protective layer 5 which is adhered to one side thereof and has optical anisotropy. The body 2 is adhered with two sheets of the film 3 with the printed sides thereof faced to the inner side. The grating patterns of the fixed body match the grating parts consisting of the polarization imparting parts 4 which diagonally intersect the absorption axes between the films 3 and are formed by pattern printing. Colors are changed by changing the intersection angles of the respective absorption axes of the arbitrary polarizing plate 6 disposed on the rear of the protective layer 5 and the films 3, by which even the intricate patterns are easily obtd. with high accuracy. Switching of brightness and darkness is facilitated as well.
