PURPOSE:To shorten test time by detecting a release guard signal after transmission of a release signal to confirm the trunk line state. CONSTITUTION:A start signal 20 and a release signal 21 are sent from an originating office to acquire and release an incoming register, and a release guard signal 22 from a terminating office is detected by the originating office to confirm the trunk line state. Next, the tested trunk line is set to the idle state to start testing another trunk line.
