PURPOSE:To save the capacity of a ROM and to obtain an automatic white balance operation with high accuracy without increasing the capacity of the ROM, by dividing a table converter into two stages, and functioning the table converter as one table converter as a whole by inputting an input signal to a first table converter and converting the output of the first table converter by a second table converter. CONSTITUTION:When signals equivalent to the addresses (i) and (j) of the conversion table of the first table converter 10 are inputted, signals such as an A(P1), an A(P2),...an A(Pa), an A(S), an A(Q),... are outputted according to the conversion table. The outputs of the first table converter 10 are inputted to the second table converter 11, and the second table converter 11 outputs outputs (Vr(P1), Vb(P2)), (Vr(P2), Vb(P2))...(Vr(P9), Vb(P9)), (Vr(S), Vb(S)), and (Vr(Q), Vb(Q)) corresponding to the addresses of the input signal. Therefore, by setting the conversion tables of the first table converter 10 and the second table converter 11 so as to obtain appropriate control voltages (Vr) and (Vb) for a various kinds of conditions of external light, an automatic white balance device can be operated in a prescribed operation.
