PURPOSE:To increase resisitivity with a lower firing temperature without impairing dielectric characteristic by adding a certain amount of copper oxide as a sub-ingredient to specific a dielectric porcelain composition. CONSTITUTION:As a sub-ingredient, 0.03-0.65 wt.% of copper oxide by CuO2 conversion as total sub-ingredient is added to a substance expressed by (Pba Meb)(Mg1/3Nb2/3)xTiyO2+a+b, where Me is an element selected from a group of Ca, Ba, and Sr; x+y=1.00, 0,001<=b<=0.225, 1.010<=a+b<= 1.250, and 0.650<=x<=0.960. If the content of the copper oxide is smaller than 0.03 wt.%, improvement effect of a lower firing temperature does not appear and if it is larger than 0.65 wt.%, lowering of dielectric constant and resistivity intensify. This makes firing in an atmosphere of a lower oxygen partial pressure possible to obtain a high resisitivity.
